Good Food Box volunteers are essential to the success of our program. We have 130 dedicated volunteers who make the Good Food Box happen each month. Why not be one of them?
By volunteering with the GFB you enjoy knowing that in a practical way, you are supporting the belief that everyone should have equal access to nutritious food.
We have volunteer opportunities for groups and individuals.
Join a friendly, great group of folks at the warehouse to pack vegetables and fruit into our Good Food Boxes. Packing day is generally the third Tuesday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We pack our boxes once a month. Packing day volunteers get to take some of the remaining produce home, and enjoy a homemade vegetarian soup, and salad or sandwiches for lunch. Coffee is provided. This is suitable for corporate or school groups, as well as individuals. You need to be able to bend, twist, lift, and stand for long periods of time.
You will be representing the Good Food Box at various events, sharing information about the program. Volunteers are trained to attend events, staff information tables, and answer general questions about the program. Evening, weekend and weekday events (need not be available for all time slots).
